Vaikunta Ekadashi In Tirumala – 2018

Vaikunta Ekadashi is on 18/12/2018 and Dwadashi on 19/12/2018.Vaikunta Ekadashi is also called as Mukkoti Ekadashi. It is believed that vaikunta Dwaram or the door of Lord’s inner sanctuary opens on this day and that the devotees who observed fast in Vaikunta Ekadashi attain salvation will go to heaven.

Vaikunta Ekadashi is a very important festival of south India celebrated in all the temples of Lord Vishnu. On this special day in all Vishnu temples, the Vaikunta Dwara a special entrance in the north side of the temple is opened once in a year.

Vaikunta Ekadashi is a very important festival in Tirumala Lord Venkateswara temple. In Tirumala, the northern gate to the main temple hall is decorated as Vaikunta Dwara and devotees are allowed to pass through Vaikunta Dwaram on these two days. It is believed that one who passes through Vaikunta Dwaram on these days will be blessed with Moksha. In Tirumala the Vaikunta Dwaram will decorate with 365 types of flowers on this special day.

Divya darshan and special entry darshan may not be available on Vaikunta Ekadashi due to huge crowd. With an estimate of over a lakh of devotees visiting the temple to receive the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy on this special day. The waiting time of darshan might be 24-36 hours. Special arrangements are made for preparation and distribution of free prasadam. Food and water will be supplied in the compartments.

• Online booking is not permitted on this day. Only VVIP darshan passes will be isssued on this day.

• • On this special day waiting in the Q-Complexes might take 24-36 hours for darshan, so be prepared with medicines and blankets because in Tirumala cold winds in winter is too high.
  • Don’t get traps of middle men for darshan and accommodation.
  • If you prefer to take children along with you, please be prepared for huge crowd, which is not suggestible.
